STRATEGY 5: Finding Information in a Website

Introduction - When to Use It

You are looking at a Web page you feel is trustworthy, and you want to find specific information there.

Step 1 - Use Digital Notebook

Copy a key word from your Digital Notebook that you want to find on this Web page.

Step 2 - Use Find Command

Paste the key word into your browser's Find Box.
Press Return to go to your key word on the Web page.
Click the arrow or next button to find another place where that word appears on the Web page.

Step 3 - Use Menu

Read the sections in the top or side menu.
Click to view sections that relate to your key words.

Step 4 - Use Search Box

Scan to find the search box in this site.
Paste key words from your Digital Notebook into the search box.
Scan results and open links you think are on topic.
